Tournament Rules

Official rules for the MEDC Invitational. All participants must follow these rules.

Official Rule Set — PBIC2026 (PH & TH Allowed)

  • This tournament follows the Point Blank International Championship 2026 (PBIC2026) competition rules (Point Blank National Championship 2025 rule set).
  • Account eligibility: Philippines (PH) and Thailand (TH) accounts are explicitly allowed to participate in the MEDC Invitational.

Section 1: Overview

1.1 Match Room Settings

  • Game Mode: e-Sports Bomb
  • Objective: 7 rounds
  • Round Duration: 3 minutes
  • Countdown: 3 seconds
  • Side Switch Time: 60 seconds

1.2 Pre-Match Preparation

  • Players must arrive and check in at the venue as designated by the committee. Each team leader is responsible for checking in their team members before the event starts.
  • Players must configure the game, log in, and enter the match room within 10 minutes of the preparation period. Leaving the room is not allowed unless authorized by the referee.
  • All players must press "Ready" when signaled by the referee and wait for the match to begin. Installing software or drivers during preparation is strictly prohibited unless approved by the referee.
  • Required settings include: (A) Connecting personal devices — only in-ear headphones are allowed; (B) Suitable team communication software; (C) Nickname settings; (D) In-game settings customization; (E) Practice limitations (e.g., AI Bot, training mode, or team practice).
  • Web cam / camera required: A web cam or camera is required before and during the game. The camera must be facing towards the player's monitor at all times when required.
  • All necessary software for personal devices will be installed by staff before the match. Macro usage is prohibited; any detection will result in disqualification. If equipment fails, players have 5 minutes to replace it.
  • Player substitutions must be reported at least 30 minutes before the match. Substitutions during the match are not allowed unless approved by the referee.
  • Each team may use only 1 sniper rifle per round.
  • Each team may use only 2 SMGs with dual-wield mode per round.
  • Players may pick up any weapon from eliminated opponents.
  • Players may not interact with personal devices after being eliminated, except for switching weapons or team communication under referee supervision.
  • Changing in-game nicknames during the match is prohibited.

1.3 Game Format

  • The first team to win 9 out of 16 rounds is the winner of the match.
  • Side switch occurs automatically after round 8, with a 120-second break before round 9.
  • If the score is tied at 6-6, an overtime match will be played. Overtime: e-Sports Bomb, 4 rounds, 3 min round duration, 3 sec countdown, 60 sec side switch. First to win 4 out of 6 rounds in overtime wins. Side switch after round 3, 60-second break before round 4.
  • If tied at 3-3 in overtime, a Sudden Death round is played: e-Sports Bomb, single round, 3 min duration, 3 sec countdown, no side switch. Winner of that round wins the match.
  • Matches proceed continuously without breaks, except for halftime or emergencies (e.g., internet issues, injuries, equipment problems). Players must raise their hand to request a pause, which must be approved by the referee. Pauses for strategy discussions or bathroom breaks are not allowed.
  • To prevent cheating, team communication during unexpected pauses is only allowed in the presence of a referee or interpreter.

Section 2: Game Rules

2.1 Chatting Rules

  • Players are not allowed to chat with outsiders; communication is permitted only within the team.
  • Voice chat software must be approved by the tournament organizers. Using unauthorized software is considered a violation.
  • All team members may use voice chat software. Players may use voice chat whether still playing or eliminated.

2.2 Player Conduct Regulations

  • Players may bring their own peripherals, but they must be registered with the staff no later than 10 days before the tournament. Any required software or drivers for peripherals (mouse, mousepad, keyboard, headphones) must also be registered within the same timeframe.
  • Staff will determine whether the equipment complies with tournament rules. If players do not bring their own equipment, they must use the equipment provided by the staff.

2.3 Prohibited Software or Bugs

  • Decisions regarding the use of unauthorized software or exploiting bugs will be made by the staff, who will impose penalties as appropriate.
  • If a player suspects another of using prohibited software, the team leader must report it to the referee immediately.
  • Players are not allowed to exploit map bugs or enhanced character glitches for advantage.

2.4 Abnormal Situations

  • Equipment provided by the staff must not be modified unless in emergencies or technical issues (handled by staff).
  • In case of technical issues (computer, internet, etc.), players must raise their hand to notify the referee for game suspension and troubleshooting.
  • If a problem occurs while a player is about to be eliminated, the game may be paused or restarted, with scores referenced from the previous round. If at least one team member has been eliminated before the issue, the round must continue and the next match will resume after fixing the issue, using the previous score.
  • Example: Team A has 3 points, Team B has 2. If Team A wins the round before the issue, the score becomes Team A: 4, Team B: 2. The game pauses and resumes from that score.
  • If a major issue prevents the match from continuing (e.g., power outage, server crash), the referee will decide whether to restart the round or award points based on fairness. Criteria include: (A) Less than 7 seconds left to defuse the C4 bomb with more round time remaining but defending team hasn't started defusing; (B) Defuse time exceeds remaining round time; (C) Less than 43 seconds left in the round and attacking team hasn't planted the bomb; (D) A kill difference of 4 or more between teams.
  • All disputes related to the competition will be resolved solely by the designated staff.
